In the beginning...
The team from GoSolid began holding Xbox LANs in 2002. Some 8 years later and it seems nothing can stop the noob-pwning LANathon.
Fueld by the need for a competitive platform from which Halo CE could be played given the lack of Xbox live support, the Melbourne based LAN we have all come to know and love was born. From humble beginnings in a vacant garage with only a few hard nosed gamers, GoSolid has grown into a cult phenomenon catering to over 60 players in events and tournament spanning casual and competitive arenas. GoSolid is run as a non-profit organisation focused on community and aimed at growing e-sports in Australia.
Who and Why
GoSoilid would not be here today without the hard work and dedication of its directors, Roman and Smajser. This dynamic duo are Halo CE veterans and while they may be
past their prime, neither hold anything back on the battlefield. What keeps them going is no mystery. It all began for the love of the game and desire to compete and it definitely still is. However now more than ever it is the love of the community that drives this team. That means You! So thank you for being apart of it! Keep GoSolid firing by participating, the forums, LANs, tournaments and feature events.
Staff
Numerous staff members and volunteers have come and gone over the years, all of which are dearly appreciated. Kudos to Stuart from Gamesole, Jezbro, Doddus, No37, Aiden, Fury, Excessum, Heops, Schmut and Wreck who have provided support over the years.
Our motto
Social gaming is not a new concept. However when GoSolid started it certainly was -at least in the console world. 'Go Solid or Go Home' takes a stab at the stereotypical profile of the video gamer, locked away in their room at home. If this is you we want you out of the bedroom and onto the battlefield!
